UTAH SENATORS UNITE BEHIND JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT

U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Utah Senators Orrin Hatch and Bob Bennett have endorsed John McCain for president.

"John McCain has the experience and maturity necessary to lead our country," said Senator Hatch. "There will be no learning curve when he enters the Oval Office. Unlike his rivals on the Democratic side, John's motorcade will not need training wheels."

John McCain thanked Senators Hatch and Bennett for their support, stating, "I appreciate Orrin and Bob's support of my campaign and look forward to working with my colleagues towards victory in November. Their advice and counsel on issues important to voters in Utah will be a great asset to our campaign."

Utah's senior senator, Senator Hatch is perhaps best known for his chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee, a position in which he served from 1995 to 2001 and again from 2003 to 2005. Still the senior Republican on the committee, Senator Hatch has participated in the confirmation hearings of eight of the nine current Supreme Court justices and countless federal judges.
Elected in 1996, Senator Bennett serves on the Republican leadership team as counsel to Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, where he advises the leader on legislative strategy and policy priorities. He is also the ranking Republican on the Senate Rules Committee and the Appropriation Committee's Subcommittee on Agriculture.
