FLORIDA STATE REPRESENTATIVE CLAY FORD ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT

U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Florida State Representative Clay Ford has endorsed John McCain for president.
"As a former Army infantryman who rose from Private to Colonel, I have the utmost confidence in John McCain and his ability to lead our nation as commander in chief," Rep. Ford said. "John McCain also has the necessary and demonstrated fiscal discipline to get our economy back on the right track."

John McCain thanked Representative Ford, saying, "Clay has an impressive military record, and is an example of service and leadership to the people of Florida. I value his support, and look forward to working with him on issues of concern to Floridians and all Americans."

State Representative Clay Ford is a Florida attorney who retired as a U.S. Army Colonel after having served on active duty as well as in the Army Reserve and National Guard from 1955 to 1988. He won a special election to the Florida State House of Representatives in March of 2007. He was Mayor Pro Tempore of the City of Gulf Breeze from 2000-2007 and was a member of the Gulf Breeze City Council from 1990-2007. Representative Ford was a member of the Arkansas Pulaski County Special School District Board from 1977-1979 and a State Representative in the Arkansas House from 1975-1976.He is a member of the American Legion, Gulf Breeze Chamber of Commerce, National Rifle Association, Gulf Breeze Rotary Club, Florida Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, and is a former Chairman of the Bay Area Resources Council and a former president of the Florida League of Cities.
