STATEMENT BY FL CO-CHAIR FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE JIM SMITH ON JOHN MCCAIN'S SOUTH CAROLINA PRIMARY VICTORY

U.S. Senator John McCain's Florida Co-Chair, former Florida Secretary of State Jim Smith, issued the following statement regarding the results of the South Carolina Primary:

"Tonight, South Carolinians recognized that John McCain is the only candidate with the experience and judgment needed to lead as commander in chief from day one, and win in the general election in November. On January 29th, Florida has the chance to build John McCain's growing momentum and move him another step closer to becoming the Republican nominee for president."
