SHEPARD SMITH: "I wanted to ask you about gas. You have called for a holiday over the summer between Memorial and Labor Day from the federal gas tax. What would we sacrifice were such a thing to happen?"

JOHN MCCAIN: "Very little. Maybe a Bridge to Nowhere. Maybe another pork barrel project. It should be made up by general revenues. Look, all I'm asking for is a little holiday. We continue to see gas prices go up dramatically at the gas stations. It's 18 cents a gallon for regular gasoline, and 24 cents on diesel. And you know, when I mentioned it, the special interests in Washington -- you'd of think I had said I'm declaring the end of Western civilization as we know it. Oh my God! Look, the lowest income Americans drive the furthest in America. They want to take a little vacation this summer. Let's give them a little break. Is it a huge impact? Maybe not, but it might be nice to give them a little break."

my mother had 9 kids to raise. my father died young. my older sister took care of us while she worked (2 & 3 jobs) the house was loud and constant arguments among us all until the minute my mother walked in the door. her shear presence brought calm and confidence. that is what the presence of mc'cain did for d.c. when he walked in the room. by the way my brother is a retired congressman and his presence to this day brings calm in our family. thank you john mc'cain and sarah palin and we are all with you. by the way in response to the senator that said bho is going to be talking about the long gas lines in the south is not very smart. hurricane problems caused this.duh

shepard smith is a program i never miss. not only do you talk on a working man's level and your vocal expressions are almost word for word that we the middle class are feeling. we are actually the glue that holds america together, at least that is my opinion. that is the feelings i hold for john mc'cain and sarah palin. they are real and very much in touch with the working middle class. obama reminds me of a doctor that has no bedside manners. take an aspirin and call me in the morning if you need me. presidential material...i don't think so.

i watched the debate and if i had any doubt that john mc'cain is a leader, i don't now. obama does a lot of talking but by the time he tries to make his point i was losing the question. all i can keep in mind about 0bama is that he crammed for this debate and was very disturbed that he had to go to d.c. during his debate study, and that he made the comment to d.c. that he had something more important going on at the moment and that if they thought he could be of any help they could call him. he also made several smirks during this debate. he came across as following a script and not natural at all. it makes me wonder who is doing his talking for him.

on foxnews this afternoon i was happy to hear them report that the comment obama made about henry kissinger, (whom obama said he personally talked to) was indeed false. john mc'cain stood up to obama on the stage and called his kissinger remark a lie. if obama will very openly lie to american people in front of someone willing to correct him, and he still came back and told mc'cain that henry kissinger did in fact say that. i truely believe for sure now that obama can do way more harm to the american people then good. my father-in-law always said he would rather have three thieves sitting at his dinner table than one liar. liars are very dangerous people.

WOW FOX JUST GAVE ME ANOTHER REASON TO WATCH FOX -- SHEPHERD SMITH, HANNITY @ COLMES, GRETA LIVE AND NOW MIKE HUCKABEE, I ALSO LIKE NEIL C. BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND A LOT OF HIS PROGRAM, BUT I THINK HE IS VERY TRUSTWORTHY AND HONEST, HE'S JUST NOT SHEPHERD. THE ONLY THING THAT DISTRACTS ME FROM FOX IS AMERICAN IDOL, BUT I MIGHT NOT WATCH IT ANYMORE AS LONG AS IT IS ON NBC. I NEVER WATCH O'REILY BECAUSE HE IS JUST A LITTLE TOO CONCEITED FOR ME. BUTWQTPZI FOX IS THE CHANNEL TO WATCH 24 - 7.
